While Easter is a Christian holiday today, early Pagans celebrated the vernal equinox on or around March 21 or March 22. It was the official end of the long winter months, and fertility rites and gardening took place. Modern pagans celebrate Ostara, in honor of the Anglo-Saxon Goddess, Eostre.

Easter and Passover are very closely related because Christ resurrected during Passover. Early Eastern Orthodox Christians celebrated both holidays together, but today they prefer to separate them, setting Easter aside for Sunday, and celebrating Passover as it falls during the week.Fernlea Flowers: Easter Trivia
