What Women Want is an American romantic comedy starring Mel Gibson as the successful advertising executive Nick Marshall, whose ego is the least of his problems when he is passed over for a promotion that is given to Helen Hunt's Darcy. After being electrocuted by a hairdryer giving him the ability to hear women's thoughts, comedy and romance ensue. He gets a new perspective after being able to hear what his 15 year-old is thinking including the struggles she is going through. While he has this ability he uses it to be able to give the women he is interested in exactly what they want, but is very confused by how complex a woman's thoughts are. When at work, he uses his ability to steal a co-workers ideas for a new Nike ad campaign. His co-worker is very puzzled that he knew exactly what she had planned, and he eventually reveals his ability and what he had done.
