What is Thanksgiving
In America the first Thanksgiving is often attributed to the feast shared between the surviving Mayflower pilgrims and their Wampanoag neighbors in 1621. However, an even earlier Thanksgiving celebration had occurred in Canada in 1578, when explorer Martin Frobisher hosted a formal feast to give thanks after surviving the difficult journey to Newfoundland.Scholastic: The First Thanksgiving Feast Twilight Bridge: History and Origin of Canadian ThanksgivingThanksgiving has come to mean many different things to different people over the centuries. Many bring families and friends together to give thanks for the little things, while others focus on the feast! It is often treated as a time to express thankfulness for life's blessings.
