Synopsis
The film tells the tale of two childhood friends. Brian, played by Mark Ruffalo and Paulie, played by Ethan Hawke, who grow up in a tough South Boston Irish-Catholic neighborhood. The two lifelong friends are seemingly trapped in a vicious cycle of crime, drugs and violence. To make matters worse they are under the suspicious eye of a police detective, played by Donnie Wahlberg. Brian's life reaches a crossroads when Brian's wife, played by Amanda Peet, tries to convince Brian to move away from his criminal lifestyle.
