2007-2008 Writers' Strike
- The WGA's contract with the AMPTP expired October 31, 2007 and members of the WGA went on strike from November 5, 2007 to February 12, 2008. The main issue of disagreement was regarding DVD residuals, television syndication deals and online distribution of material. As a result of the strike, several awards shows were disrupted, including the Golden Globes, the Academy Awards and their own WGA Awards.Variety: It's official: WGA strike is over (February 12, 2008)
