Westfall is a township in Pike County in Pennsylvania. Located near the Delaware River where New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania meet, Westfall filed for bankruptcy in June 2009.
Bankruptcy
During the 1990s, developer David Katz wanted to build approximately 1,500 homes on 750 acres that he owns in Westfall Township. He also planned to build a hotel on a 3.3 acre plot he owns but as of 2009, both plots remain empty.
The Township supervisors at the time, blocked Katz's plans and the Pennsylvania town was eventually found guilty of racketeering. Westfall Township owes The township owes Katz $20 million after he won a lawsuit in 1999.
