Wes Welker is a wide receiver with the National Football League's New England Patriots.
After scoring a touchdown in a December 21, 2008, win over the Arizona Cardinals, Welker laid down on the snow-covered field and celebrated the score by making a snow angel. On December 24, 2008, Welker was fined $10,000 by the NFL for unsportsmanlike conduct for participation in an illegal demonstration. Injury and Recovery
In Week 17 of the 2009 NFL Season, Welker suffered a season-ending knee injury during a game against the Houston Texans. The game will be played on August 19, 2010, but as of August 17, Welker was still undecided about whether he would play or not. NFL Career
Wes Welker went undrafted in 2004 and signed as a free agent with the San Diego Chargers. However, he was cut from the team after one game and signed with the Miami Dolphins. Welker was used on special teams for the rest of the season until becoming a backup receiver in 2005. After an impressive 2006 season, Welker was traded to the New England Patriots.
During his first season in New England, Welker became a full-time starter while setting career highs in receiving. Welker finished 2007 with 112 catches for 1,175 yards and eight touchdowns. Wes Welker Injured
Wes Welker injured his left knee during a game against the Houston Texans in Week 17 of the 2009 NFL season. In the video above, you can see the play Welker was injured on. After being assisted to the bench, Welker was eventually carted off the field and placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.
