Wes Anderson is an Academy Award-nominated American film director, producer, and writer whose awkwardly comedic films are often tempered with a healthy dose of pathos and dramatic tragedy. Anderson's feature length debut was the 1996 film Bottle Rocket (which starred his writing partner Owen Wilson). Although a critical success, it wasn't until the 1998 movie Rushmore (which also helped resurrect the career of Bill Murray) that Anderson began to achieve a good deal of notoriety. 2001's The Royal Tenenbaums continued his success and earned him an Academy Award nomination for "Best Screenplay". Anderson's latest movie is The Darjeeling Limited.
