39-year-old Wendy Byrne was killed on January 17, 2009 after three teenage boys attempted to rob her, and then shot her even though she reportedly did not resist the robbery. The incident took place at the French Quarter of New Orleans. Investigation
Police identified the boys involved after developing sketches of suspects. The mother of one of them called police after seeing a sketch and said it pictured her son. One of the boys has confessed to the murder, the other one has confessed to participating in the robbery.
