The Israeli company WeCU Technologies developed a mind reading technology. WeCU (a play on the words "we see you") would measure a person's heart-rate and body temperature to detect any elevations that would occur when the person sees a trigger picture. When implemented in airports, a trigger image would appear on an airport screen. For most, the symbolic image wouldn't mean anything, but a person affiliated with a terrorist group would likely react to the picture by breathing faster or their heart may beat faster. If a person acted suspiciously in response to the image, they would be screened more thoroughly.http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/01/08/mind-reading-systems-change-air-security/?test=latestnews
WeCU began developing the mind-reading technology in 2003 after a series of suicide bombings. The technology was created with a goal of identifying potential terrorists before they carry out an attack.http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/981986.html
How the Mind Reader Technology Works
WeCU can screen a person in under a minute. The person will not even be aware they are being screened. According to WeCU's CEO Ehud Givon, the technology works by measuring a persons reactions to a stimulus. If a person with the intent to cause harm sees an image or symbol related to a past crime he was involved in or a picture that represents a group he belongs to, this will create an emotional or physiological response. Responses could include an increased heartbeat or a rise in the body's temperature. The technology uses "hidden biometric sensors" that can then measure this reaction and the data would be evaluated on a computer program. WeCE could potentially help identify a person who may be planning on carrying out a terrorist activity.http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/981986.html
