    Weber State University was founded in 1889 by the Weber Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The church would transfer power to the state of Utah in 1933. In 1962, it was named Weber State College, then in 1991 it would become Weber State University.Weber State: Decade by Decade
