Watergate salad is generally prepared with a combination of pistachio pudding mix, crushed pineapple, whipped cream and miniature marshmallows. The original concept was developed in 1975 by Kraft Foods and called "Pistachio Pineapple Delight."

Ingredients
- Instant pistachio pudding mix
- Crushed pineapple, with juice, canned
- Miniature marshmallows
- Whipped cream
- Walnuts, chopped, optional
How to Make Watergate Salad
- Combine the pudding mix, pineapple with juice, marshmallows and whipped cream in a large bowl.
- Add walnuts, if desired.
- Refrigerate for one to two hours.
- Top with additional whipped cream and walnuts, if desired, serve and enjoy. Refrigerate any unused portions.
