About The End is Nigh
The game takes place five years before the events of the Watchmen graphic novel and 13 years before the film. The gameplay will be third-person action, like God of War, and will feature combos, counters and special attacks. Watchmen: The End is Nigh will be a downloadable episodic game and will be available in March 2009 to coincide with the release of the Watchmen movie.IGN: Watchmen Preview (July 23, 2008)The Story
Watchmen The End Is Nigh takes place in 1972 in New York City, five years before the Keene Act which outlaws masked vigilantism and sets the stage for the events of the graphic novel. Rorschach and Nite Owl, two of the central characters in the main storyline, are at the peak of their careers as crimefighters. The game follows them through six chapters, each one referencing directly or indirectly later events in the Watchmen timeline.Players can tackle the story mode solo, either as Rorschach or Nite Owl, or in tandem through the game's splitscreen multiplayer mode. Depending on which character you choose you will get a different set of moves - Rorschach can pick up objects to use as weapons, while Nite Owl will be able to disarm his foes.
