The 73rd annual Masters Golf tournament began on April 9, 2009 at the Augusta National Golf Course in Augusta, Georgia. and concluded on April 12, 2009. Angel Cabrera won the tournament in the second playoff hole, defeating Kenny Perry.

The Masters
The Masters is considered the first of the four major annual golf tournaments along with the United States Open, the British Open and the PGA Championship. The Masters Par 3 contest is traditionally played the day before the opening of the tournament. The winner of the Par 3 has never won The Masters in the same year.
