Washington Election Results

Washington held midterm elections on November 2, 2010. There was one US Senate race and nine US House of Representative District races. In the Senate race, the Democrat incumbent, Patty Murray, defeated her Republican challenger, Dino Rossi.http://www.foxnews.com/interactive/politics/candidate-list/#state=WA

In the House of Representatives District 3 Race, Republican Jaime Herrera defeated challenger Democrat Denny Heck resulting in a change in party control for the seat. In 2008, the state of Washington awarded its 11 electoral votes to Democratic nominee Barack Obama, helping to elect him as the 44th President of the United States. Barack Obama held a steady lead over Republican John McCain in the months prior to the 2008 presidential election in the state. Chris Gregoire, the incumbent Governor, won her re-election campaign against challenger Dino Rossi.
