Ward Churchill

Ward Churchill is an activist and former University of Colorado professor who was fired from his post in 2007 for academic research misconduct.Rocky Mountain News: CU Regents Fire Ward Churchill (July 25, 2007) Churchill's 2001 essay, "Some People Push Back," stoked controversy in 2005 after Churchill called those who had died in the 9-11 World Trade Center attacks "little Eichmanns."

A Colorado jury ruled in favor of Churchill stating that he was wrongfully fired from his job as a professor at UC. However, the jury awarded him only $1 in damages and the judge will later determine if he should get his job back.FoxNews.com: Jury: Professor Ward Churchill... (April 2, 2009)

"Some People Push Back"

In 2005, Churchill was invited to speak on a panel at Hamilton College in upstate New York. Before he appeared, however, excerpts from a 2001 essay Churchill wrote concerning the 9-11 attacks appeared in the college newspaper, and Churchill was disinvited. The Firing of Ward Churchill

Democratic Convention Altercation

On August 25, 2008, during a protest just prior to the start of the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver, Churchill became involved in an incident with FOX News reporter Griff Jenkins. Jenkins allegedly attempted to ask Churchill a question and when Churchill wouldn't answer, allegedly put his hands on the fired University of Colorado professor and activist.
