Conquest Campaign
The Lord of the Rings: Conquest features two campaigns in its single-player mode. One focuses on the Armies of the West and follows the major events of the Lord of the Rings films. During this campaign, players get the chance to control many of the major protagonists from The Lord of the Rings, including Gandalf, Aragorn and Legolas. The other campaign focuses on the armies of Mordor in a hypothetical scenario in which The One Ring was never destroyed and Sauron never defeated. In this campaign, players can embody the evil wizard Saruman and even Sauron himself. Objective 1: Capture the Shore
- Choose the Archer for this part of the level.
- Achievement: The first objective is an ideal place to earn "Eagle Eyes," which requires you to kill 25 enemies with headshots. Stay behind the army's battering ram and hold LT to zoom in. Target the heads of your enemies and fire away.
- Keep moving with the battering ram, clearing out enemies until you reach the capture point. Hold it until you complete the objective.

Objective 2: Clear the Bridge
- Use the same strategy of headshots in this section. Move ahead with your army as they tear through each barricade. When the enemy threat is eliminated, make sure all of the barricades are destroyed. This will allow your battering ram to pass through.
- Wait at the gate until the ram busts the door open.

Objective 3: Capture the Courtyard
- Once inside Minas Morgul, take control of Aragorn when asked if you'd like to play as a hero.
- Your first priority is to kill the two Trolls that are wreaking havoc on your crew. Get behind them, press RB and then press the correct button when prompted.
- Let your allies lead the way. Stay within the crowd to protect yourself, but use magic attacks to kill any enemies that break the lines.
- When you reach the "T" intersection inside, move with your allies to the right, and kill first group of enemies. Then, go back and take the left path, towards the capture point.
- Continue forward with your allies. Use magic attacks to kill enemies. LB and X or Y is good for killing stronger individual foes, while LB and B can knock down large groups.
- If you're hurt, you have two options for healing: The first is to pick up green orbs from downed enemies, and the second is to stay near Mages, who occasionally will use their healing power. A combination of both should keep you healthy through this battle.
- When you get to the capture point, head beyond it and quickly kill the Orc Archer near the gate. Then, retreat back to the point.
- This is a long and difficult battle that ends when you've stalled the enemy long enough to capture the ground. Stay near your allies and start clearing out enemies with magic attacks, paying close attention to the Orcs that are directly attacking you.
- When area seems clear, hold the capture point. If any enemies come close, attack them just as they are entering the capture ring.

Objective 4: Open the Prison Gate
- To the left of the capture point, there's a staircase. Let your comrades get a head start, then go upstairs and hack through the defenses. If you get surrounded at the top of the first stairway, hold LT and press B to clear out the group.
- An Orc Captain awaits at the top of the stairs. Use magic attacks to defeat him, then go to the lever on your left and press RB to pull it.

Objective 5: Free the Gondorians
- Head back downstairs. It's best to rush past the defenses beyond the gate and go straight to the prison cells.
- Start hacking away at the cell doors. Note that each cell has smaller doors next to the main one; you must break open the main one to free the prisoners.
- If enemies get close, use "LT' and B or another sweeping magic attack to keep them away.
- Break all three cells to complete the objective.

Objective 6: Destroy the 3 Power Sources
- Head back outside the prison to the gate area.
- There is no easy way to beat this part of the level. The power sources are guarded by Nazgul -- deadly creatures that will instantly kill you if you try to sneak up and destroy the sources without a fight.
- Wait at the entrance to the power source area. Several Nazgul will come down here to fight. Your best option against them is combo attacks. Try stringing together X, X, X, Y, Y, B. If you've managed to survive this long as Aragorn, killing three Nazgul will give you the "Return of the King" Achievement.
- Stay near your mages as you move through this area. They will provide valuable health to keep you alive.
- Slowly, but surely, fight your way to each power source. Try to keep your magic charged by performing regular combos, allowing you to use the CrowdBreaker (LT and B) if you get surrounded.
- Aside from the Nazgul, Orc Scouts and Warriors are your biggest threats. Take then down before worrying about the low-level grunts.
- The level will be completed after you destroy all three power sources, earned you the "Assault on Minas Morgul" Achievement.
