  • About Bullet Time

The idea of Bullet Time has its roots in early cinema, but the film most often credited with making the feature a movie and video game standard is The Matrix. Since then, Bullet Time has been featured in a number of movies, music videos, and video games.

One of the first video games to utilize Bullet Time was Max Payne. Max Payne introduced the gameplay potential of Bullet Time by slowing time to a crawl while still allowing the player to aim and react in real-time. This gave the player a huge advantage over the in-game enemies who remain bound by standard time constraints.

Since Max Payne, games such as F.E.A.R., Dark Sector, and 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand have all utilized variations on the same concept.
