    Walter Robert Szczerbiak was born in Madrid, Spain on March 5, 1977. He would attend Cold Spring Harbor High School in New York State. He would then move on to the University of Miami (OH) in Oxford, Ohio where he would lead the team to the sweet sixteen in 1999. They would eventually lose to the University of Kentucky.
  • Pro Career

    Szczerbiak would be selected with the sixth pick in the 1999 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He would establish himself as an excellent scorer and in 2002 would be selected to represent the western conference in the NBA All-Star game. In 2006, Szczerbiak was traded to the Boston Celtics with Dwayne Jones and Michael Olowokandi for Ricky Davis, Marcus Banks, Justin Reed and Mark Blount. In 2007, Szczerbiak would be traded to the Seattle SuperSonics with Delonte West,and Jeff Green for Ray Allen and Glen Davis. His stay in Seattle would be short lived, as he would be traded again at the trading deadline to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
