  • Peter Gabriel's song "Down to Earth" from the animated film Wall-E were nominated for Best Song at the 2009 Academy Awards. Gabriel was scheduled to perform the song at the ceremony, but canceled his appearance in protest after learning his performance would be cut down to just 65 seconds.
