  • Waffles are a breakfast food like pancakes only cooked in a waffle iron to give them a distinct shape. There are many different varieties of waffles. The Belgian waffle is a very popular type of waffle. You can make waffles yourself or you can buy them frozen and just pop them in the toaster for a quick meal.

    Toppings for waffles vary. Some people just use butter and syrup, some like whipped cream and fruit on their waffles.

    1. If there is steam rising out of the iron the waffle is still cooking
    2. Don't over mix the batter
    3. Don't open the iron during the first minute of cooking
