Wade Redden

  • Wade Redden is a professional ice hockey player for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League. Prior to joining the NHL, Redden competed in the 1995 and 1996 World Junior Championships, where Canada won gold each time. He went on to compete for Canada in the 1999, 2001 and 2005 World Championships and was also a member of Canada's 2006 Olympic team.
  • NHL Career

    Redden was drafted as the second overall pick by the New York Islanders during the first round of the 1995 NHL entry draft, but was traded to the Ottawa Senators before the start of the season. He was a full time member of the Senators' roster for the 1996-1997 and has remained an integral part of the team's defense ever since. A "soft spoken leader," Redden acts as alternate captain for the Senators and has won respect from the community for his charitable contributions.
