  • Wade Phillips is the head coach for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League, replacing Bill Parcells after the 2006 season. The Cowboys will be Phillips' third full-time head coaching job.

  • Brief Biography

    Wade Phillips got his start in coaching as a graduate assistant at his alma-mater, the University of Houston. He got his start in the league working as an assistant for his father, legendary coach Bum Phillips, who coached the Houston Oilers (now known as the Tennessee Titans) and the New Orleans Saints, then landed his first head coaching position in the NFL as an interim coach during the 1985 season with the New Orleans Saints organization. He quickly became known for his defense-oriented game schemes. He landed the head coaching job with the Buffalo Bills in 1998, and took the team to its only playoff game since. He is currently the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. In 2007, he took the Cowboys to the playoffs, leading them to a 13-3 record through the regular season.
