Wade Belak

Professional ice hockey right wing Wade Belak plays for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League. Belak was drafted 12th overall in the 1994 NHL draft by the Quebec Nordiques. He played two seasons in the American Hockey League with the Cornwall Aces. The Nordiques relocated to become the Colorado Avalanche in 1995 and Belak made his NHL debut with the Avalanche in 1996. On February 28, 1999, Belak was traded to the Calgary Flames. After missing the majority of the next two seasons with a shoulder injury, he was waived by the Flames and picked up by the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 16, 2001. Belak played for the Coventry Blaze in the British Elite Ice Hockey League during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout. He returned to the Maple Leafs for nearly three seasons before he was traded to the Florida Panthers on February 26, 2008.
