Wes Welker is a wide receiver with the National Football League's New England Patriots.
After scoring a touchdown in a December 21, 2008, win over the Arizona Cardinals, Welker laid down on the snow-covered field and celebrated the score by making a snow angel. On December 24, 2008, Welker was fined $10,000 by the NFL for unsportsmanlike conduct for participation in an illegal demonstration. NFL Career
Wes Welker went undrafted in 2004 and signed as a free agent with the San Diego Chargers. However, he was cut from the team after one game and signed with the Miami Dolphins. Welker was used on special teams for the rest of the season until becoming a backup receiver in 2005. After an impressive 2006 season, Welker was traded to the New England Patriots.During his first season in New England, Welker became a full-time starter while setting career highs in receiving. Welker finished 2007 with 112 catches for 1,175 yards and eight touchdowns. His 112 receptions tied him with the Bengals' T.J.
