• Early Life

  Vanessa Joy Minnillo was born at Clark Air Force Base in Angeles City, Philippines, during her father's stint in the U.S. Air Force, on November 9, 1980. Her mother Helen Berecero is a Filipina while her father Vince Minnillo is Irish and Italian American. In 1990, she moved to Charleston, South Carolina and attended high school at Bishop England High School. In 1998, she entered the Miss Teen USA Pageant as the representative from South Carolina. She won the pageant, and along the way picked up the title of Miss Congeniality.

• Career Highlights

  In 2003, she gained national attention as the host of MTV's Total Request Live show. She served as the host for four years and was also a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight. She returned to the Miss Teen USA pageant, this time as the host, in 2004. In 2007, she was a co-host with Mario Lopez for the Miss Universe pageant. She is featured in the film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer in a brief cameo.
