Triumph the Insult Comic Dog is a canine puppet worn by comedian and writer Robert Smigel that first appeared on NBC in a Late Night With Conan O'Brien skit in 1997.
In the tradition of insult comedians like Don Rickles, Triumph heckles celebrities and the people he encounters at various events. Some of his most well-known encounters have included mocking Star Wars fans waiting in line to see Attack of the Clones, insulting rapper Eminem at the MTV Music Awards and delivering a surprise weather report at a Hawaiian news station.
Triumph has been thrown out of numerous events including American Idol auditions, the Tony Awards and the Westminster Dog Show.
