Travelle Wharton was selected in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. Wharton started in all 11 games he played during his rookie season after being listed as inactive for the first five games of the year. Wharton and the offensive line allowed only 33 sacks that season. Wharton started in all 16 games in his sophomore season, helping the offensive line give up even fewer sacks than the year before with 28.
