Lineup
The British icons' original lineup consisted of songwriting team Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, co-founder Brian Jones, and rhythm section Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts. In 1969, Jones left the band and was replaced by Mick Taylor, who was eventually replaced by Ron Wood in the mid-1970s. Except for the retirement of Wyman in 1993, the lineup has stayed pretty much the same since then. -
Stones Vs. Beatles
For any music fans and critics, The Rolling Stones have often fought with The Beatles for the distinction of "world's greatest rock and roll band." While their music isn't exactly the same, the fact that they are both English rock bands that came to prominence during the 60's has made the comparisons inevitable. -
Shine a Light
On April 1, 2008, the band released the Martin Scorcese directed documentary Shine a Light which features footage from the band's two-night stint at New York City's famed Beacon Theatre. -
