• The L Word was a television drama about a group of Los Angeles lesbians and their complicated love lives. The women navigated their lives in search of love, success and happiness together. The show dealt with a wide array of topics from monogamy, alcoholism, self mutilation, fallout from a robbery and the U.S. military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.

Rumors of a spin off series have circulated during the show's final two seasons, and in the winter of 2008, a pilot was made. According to a statement from the network, the new show follows Alie Pieszecki (played by series regular Leisha Hailey) and her experiences in prison.BandC: ...Details on L Word Spin-off (January 14, 2009)
