Steve Carell plays Andy Stitzer, a 40 year-old mild mannered man who leads a somewhat lonely and boring life working in an electronics store. One evening he is invited to play poker with four of his co-workers. As the game is winding down, the men began a discussion about unique sexual situations they have been in and Andy is asked to share a personal story of his own sexual adventures. The only problem is that Andy is a virgin. He tries his best to make up a story, but his co-workers instantly realize Andy has never had sex. They decide to join together to help Andy find a woman to sleep with. The comedy ensues as Andy tries to lose his virginity, including waxing his chest and an unfortunate incident with a highly intoxicated woman.
