System of a Down, also known as SOAD, is a Grammy Award winning metal band from Los Angeles, California who have achieved both commercial and critical success over the course of five studio albums. The lyrics of many their songs are politically driven. Chart topping hits of SOAD include "Chop Suey", "Aerials", and "B.Y.O.B".
Members of SOAD
The members of System of a Down are all of Armenian decent. The members include drummer, John Dolmayan, guitarist and songwriter Daron Malakian, bassist Shavo Odadjian and lead singer Serj Tankian. Former drummer Ontronik "Andy" Khachaturian left the band after a hand injury.- Years active: 1995 - 2006 hiatus
