Longtime New York television anchor Sue Simmons has apologized for using a curse word during a live tease for WNBC-TV's 11p.m. news on May 12, 2008.
Simmons' snafu came as she teased a story on rising grocery store prices. When the video abruptly switched to footage from a different story, Simmons can be overheard off-camera exclaiming "what the **** are you doing?"
During the station's newscast just minutes later, the 64-year-old Simmons apologized to viewers, saying she had "made a mistake." A spokesperson for WNBC said there would be no further comment on the incident.
