Brief Synopsis and Background
In the film, Watts, a tomboy, (played by the close-cropped blonde Mary Stuart Masterson) begins to have feelings for her close friend, Keith (Eric Stoltz), when he begins dating the most popular girl in school, Amanda Jones (Lea Thompson). However, Jones initially only dates Keith to get back at her wealthy boyfriend Hardy Jenns (Craig Sheffer). The action in the film climaxes at the fateful date between Keith and Amanda, mainly because Watts is the driver, and Jenns's gang is getting set to prevent it from happening. -
