• The Source Material

  The original Short Circuit, released in 1986, followed the adventures of a military-built robot named Johnny 5 who develops human characteristics after being hit by a bolt of lightning. The original film starred Ally Sheedy, Steve Guttenberg and Fisher Stevens. A sequel, Short Circuit 2, was released in 1988.
