    Crow toured as a backup singer for Michael Jackson on tour from 1987-1989. She soon started recording her solo material and came out with Tuesday Night Music Club in 1994. Behind hit singles like "All I Wanna Do" and "Strong Enough," the album was a success, selling over seven million copies and earning Crow her first Grammy's. This launched a successful solo career for Crow who continued to find success with subsequent releases and collaborated with other well-known artists such as The Rolling Stones. In February, 2008, Crow released Detours, her sixth studio album.

    In 2003 Crow began dating champion cyclist Lance Armstrong, and the pair were briefly engaged before splitting in 2006. Around this time, Crow was diagnosed with breast cancer, from which she was expected to have a full recovery.
