• Jack vs. Berry

  In 2006, Research in Motion filed suit against Samsung, claiming that the BlackJack name was too similar to RIM's BlackBerry phone and that it could be confusing to customers. The BlackJack is a direct competitor with the BlackBerry and was launched at the same time as the BlackBerry Pearl. RIM accused Samsung of purposely attempting to confuse customers that were looking to purchase BlackBerry phones. The two companies eventually settled out of court.
