Rahul Khanna has grown up in the Bollywood film industry. His father is actor Vinod Khanna and his brother is actor Akshaye Khanna.Rahul was raised in Mumbai, but he studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City. He began his professional career in the entertainment industry as a VJ for MTV Asia. His big break into acting came when he was cast in Deepa Mehta's Earth. He also performs on stage, and his theater credits include a New York production of East is East.
