New Features
This version of Prince of Persia has a few new features that are set on improving gameplay. In an effort to improve gameplay for more casual users, acrobatic moves will be easier to perform and chain together. Even though some gameplay was made easier, it was made clear that more advanced players would still be able to achieve things that other players could not. There's no falling off of platforms and dying in this game. The prince has a companion, the princess Elika, who will pull him up when he falls or looks like he's going to meet some other kind of horrendous fate. Elika will also help the prince in battle.Gametrailers.com: Prince of Persia - E3 2008: Developer Walkthrough Pt. 1 (Time: 5:40)

The Windmills
- YouTube: Prince of Persia Walkthrough - Ruined Citadel: Windmills (Time: 10:31)
- If you're playing the game as we are, you should be approaching The Windmills via the path to Martyr's Tower. Jump to the column and roofrun between the columns and rings. Jump from the pole to the platform, then wallrun to the locked of entrance to the tower.
- Continue along the path with the narrow planks, magic jumping between the gaps.
- When you reach the platform with two possible ways to go, head to the left, where you'll need to wallrun. Warning: Some corruption blocks the path on the two walls ahead, so time your runs carefully.
- At the first pole, wait before jumping to the next wall. See the corruption ahead? Wait until it's about lined up with you vertically, and moving downward. Then, start your run, pressing B to use the rings on the walls. Jump after the second ring to reach the next pole. Time this last wallrun carefully to avoid the corruption.
- An enemy approaches. Block its initial attacks, then use B, Y, X, Y to defeat it easily.
- Use the plank on the opposite ledge to get you close to a running wall. Grab the ring on the corner, then jump to the pole. Repeat this process again to reach another platform.
- Climb the wall using the rings, then wall run and press B to reach the next platform. Continue on, using the rings to extend your run as you encounter them. You'll reach a brief dialog point where Elika directs you to the windmill. Make sure your destination is set on the map, and press Y' to see the correct path.
- Find the red Power Plate down a small bridge to your left and use it. From here, you'll have several jumps from the plates interspersed with rings to extend your run. Hint: The proper sequence, if you're getting stuck, is Y, Y, B, B, Y, B, Y.
- Now, you're entering the inner workings of the windmill. There's a puzzle here that requires you use two gears to line up a pair of millstones with the Power Plates you need to get ahead. Press B to grab on to the gear. The right gear moves the millstones. The left gear changes the speed and direction of the two millstones, with red making them move a half turn and blue making them move a quarter turn.
- Of course, we'll tell you how to do it. Move the left gear counterclockwise, then the right gear counterclockwise, then the left gear counterclockwise again, then move the right gear in either direction two times.
- Climb to the red Power Plate on the left millstone. Blast to the next plate, then to a ring on the wall, then one more plate to take you to another platform.
- Jump to the two poles, and the camera will switch to a side view of Prince and Elika. You may have to press right on the left thumbstick to get momentum. Jump to the wall, climb up a step, then jump to the opposite wall. Climb up again and jump to the opposite platform.
- The path continues along a wall. Run between the two moving pieces of corruption and press B to use the ring. As soon as you touch the the mill, press A to leap to the plank to your right.
- Wait until the mill stops turning, then climb up it and jump to the plank across from you. Use the small extending piece of plank to jump to the next platform.
- This puzzle has three millstones instead of two. Here's the solution: Move the left gear counterclockwise once, then the right gear clockwise twice, then the left gear clockwise twice then the right gear clockwise twice.
- You can now use the Power Plates, starting with the left gear. This will take you outside. Follow this straightforward path while avoiding the corruption on the walls. When you reach the wall with two rings spaced vertically, wait until the corruption is just out of your way before starting to ascend. Leap into the room ahead for another encounter with The Hunter.
- The battle begins like the last. Use the combination of B, Y, X, Y, X to attack The Hunter.
- Occasionally, the Hunter will change states, making it stronger. A successful X attack will bring it back to normal, or you can wait it out by blocking.. When the enemy turns from purple back to orange, you can resume your original combos.
- Again, only block when your screen gets filled with black, and be prepared to tap X after each combo. Repeat this process until The Hunter retreats once more.
- Hop over the wall with the ring on it, to where you can tap Y and clean the land.
The Sun Temple: Light Seeds
- LIGHT SEEDS: 45
- Grab the three light seeds on the platform. Grab the fourth seed near the red Power Plate and launch from it.
- Follow the plates to the platform below, then make a quick run through the arched gate. This is the path back to King's Gate, and there are several light seeds here.
- Take the slide on the left and grab the seeds along the way. When you reach the next platform, turn left, and do a magic jump to the far wall where another seed is waiting, then jump off the wall back to the platform.
- Follow the wooden plank to the two walls that lead to King's gate, grabbing on Light seed on the way there. When you reach the site where you once fought an enemy, turn around and go back the way you came. You can grab the other light seed by wall running from the fissure.
- When you return to the rectangular platform, drop down on the side near the two slides, and grab the two seeds hanging on a plank below. Now, take the left slide to get the final seed in this room.
- Turn left when you go through the arched gateway. Follow this path and grab the seeds near the poles. When you reach the plank, walljump on the surrounding walls to reach the seeds near the ceiling.
- Keep going. There's another pair of walls for jumping between ahead, yielding two more Light Seeds.
- Continue ahead. When you reach the last pole, swing and wallrun to the fissures. You can jump up from them to get the two seeds above. This is as far as you can go before reaching corrupted ground, so turn around and go back.
- When you reached the platform with the arched gateway leading to King's Gate, jump from the plank that leads to the red Power Plate. Blast from these to a faraway platform with more Light Seeds.
- There's a fissure along the right wall. Starting here, magic jump to the opposite wall to obtain one seeds, then keep magic jumping between the two. You'll eventually reach a plank that holds a somewhat hidden seed.
- Gripfall back down the wall. Take the path on the right and wallrun below the fissure for another Light Seed. Keep going in this direction to trace a path back to the Fertile Ground.
- After blasting from some Power Plates, you'll recognize this area as the place to wall jump between fissures and an intermittent column. Take this path up to where you originally slid down through the black liquid.
- Here, you'll need to wallrun to the left to grab the first Light Seed, then Gripfall down and to the right to get the other. You can also hang off the ledge on the right to get an additional seed.
- Blast from the Power Plates to the area where you have to wallrun and jump to the nearest column. Get the Light Seed there, then continue to the site where you last fought The Hunter. Use the Power Plates to get back to the arched gateway.
- Now, take the path on the right and leap to the first column, then the second one. To get the seed on the wall, jump from the column, then leap back.
- Follow this path while collecting seeds. When you reach the column where there are a pair of seeds on another plank to your left, crawl to the bottom of the column before jumping to the plank. Then, run up the wall to get the seeds.
- Return to the column and use it to roofrun to the rings ahead. Grab the last Light Seeds along the way and continue to the platform where an enemy is waiting. By now you should have 40 seeds from The Sun Temple. You won't be able to get the rest until you obtain Breath of Ormazd.
- Once you have this power, start at the teleport point and use the red Power Plate to get to the platform below. Turn so the wall is on your left, and move along the path. You'll find a green Power Plate on the left after a few quick jumps.
- Use the plate to climb upward. Dodge the obstacles and grab the two seeds along the way. The last three of this area's 45 seeds await at the top of the wall.
The Sun Temple
- YouTube: Prince of Persia Walkthrough - Ruined Citadel: Sun Temple (Time: 9:10)
- To reach this area, you'll need have unlocked Step of Ormazd from the temple. Set your destination using the map and press Y to have Elika show you the way.
- Starting from the teleport point at King's Gate, follow the path that Elika provides, or use the procedure involving the red Power Plates described at the end of the King's Gate section above.
- Quickly defeat the enemy along the way with a simple B X Y combo.
- Keep moving, climbing to the fissure, then along the walls and past a slide to the next room.
- You're now in the Sun Temple proper. Use your newfound power to jump to the red Power Plate ahead, then press Y to blast between them.
- The Hunter will impede your progress. Get close to him, then use the combo of B for gauntlet, Y for magic, X for attack and Y for magic again will do considerable damage. After this, the Hunter will lock swords. Tap X repeatedly to break free.
- If The Hunter sprays your screen with black liquid, hold off on attacking and block him until it fades. Repeat this process until the Hunter, now wounded, escapes to the fertile ground above.
- Use the nearby red Power Plate to blast ahead. You'll reach another platform, where the Hunter will try to impede your progress by summoning corruption along the walls.
- Obviously, don't touch the liquid. Climb up the fissure, and when the corruption slides down and out of your way, wall run to the next fissure.
- Move along the wall, between the fissures, while dodging the corruption. The only tricky part is at the end, when you'll have to run between two chunks of liquid when they separate, then press Y to blast from the red Power Plate when you reach it.
- Fly from the plates to the next platform. Climb the fissure, then crawl up the wall from where the fissure ends. Just before you slide back down, jump to the column behind you.
- Repeat this process to reach the next length of column,, then jump the horizontal fissure on the wall. Run along the fissures and the wall while dodging the liquid.
- This next part requires a bit of timing and luck. Slide to the bottom of the vertical fissure and look down. You'll need to Gripfall down the wall while avoiding all the corruption along the way. Start your descent when the first chunk of liquid is about lined up with you and moving to the right. Pres left or right on the left thumbstick to dodge the liquid as you slide down.
- There's one last bit of corruption to dodge as you wallrun to the red Power Plate. When you reach it, press Y to start moving along. After you reach the second plate, you'll have to wallrun and jump to reach the column. Jump from here to the two poles, using magic jump when necessary. This will take you to the where the Hunter is waiting.
- The same combo of B, Y, X, Y works here. Again, be ready to tap X repeatedly after this combination and block when your screen gets filled with black liquid.
- Once you've knocked the Hunter off the platform, approach the light and tap Y to restore the fertile ground.
King's Gate: Light Seeds
- YouTube: Prince of Persia Walkthrough - King's Gate - Location of all 45 Light Seeds (Time: 10:43)
- LIGHT SEEDS: 45
- Now, you can turn yourself to the game's major diversion: collecting all of the Light Seeds. You'll already have one when play resumes. Turn to the gate in one corner of the room and you'll see glowing blue point of light. Grab it, then jump up the wall to the ring on your right to get the second seed. This will also open the gate.
- Beyond the gate, you'll see a veritable playground full of Light Seeds to reach. Sadly, the one high up, directly in front of you is unreachable in your current state. Jump from the plank to the column across the way and shimmy down, grabbing two more Light Seeds.
- Climb back up the column to where you can jump to some vines on the opposite wall. Climb down on one side to grab the higher Light seed, then move over to where the lower seed is located and Gripfall down to grab it. Follow the path to the right.
- Jump your way to the last pole along the path. To reach the vines in front of you, press Y to use Elika's magic while in the air.
- When you reach the wall above, grab the seed on the wall in front of you, then jump to the poll ahead.
- This part is tricky. First, use Elika's magic boost to reach the next platform, the sand will cause Prince to slide down. When you run out of ground, jump to the wall on the left, run along it, then jump to the wall on the right. Jump one more time to reach the pole ahead.
- Leap to the ground in front of you and fight the enemy that's waiting. Pressing B for the gauntlet, followed by X for sword and Y for magic, can often yield devastating results.
- You can converse with Elika after the enemy is defeated, but don't continue in the same direction when you're finished. Instead, turn around and jump to the raised platform on the right.
- The next platform will cause you to slide again. Ride it to the end and jump to the wall, using Elika's magic if necessary to reach the next safe platform.
- This part is also tricky. Perform a magic jump to reach the next sliding platform, then jump to the platform after that, then use one more magic jump to get back to safe ground.
- After you climb over the railing, take the path along the wall for more Light Seeds. Gripfall down when you reach the vines.
- Turn left and jump back to the column across the way, then jump to the next platform. Turn right, and perform a magic jump to reach the next column and Light Seed. You can climb up this column and jump back the way you came to another platform above it.
- Climb up the column around the corner, and roofrun back the way you came for one seed. Do the same in the other direction for the other seed, pressing B when you reach it to grab the ring and extend your run.
- You're now following the path back to the Fertile Ground. Keep going and collecting Light Seeds on the way, eventually reaching the gate you originally opened to start collecting seeds.
- This time, jump to the column ahead, then position yourself to you can jump to the left. Climb as high as you can and do a magic jump to reach the top platform.
- Go to the other end of the platform and wallrun to get the next seed, then press R to Gripfall down to the vines below. Move to the right, and from here you can wall run back to a hanging column for another seed. Continue to the vines ahead and Gripfall down.
- Turn left. Leap between the planks and poles grabbing any seeds you encounter. When you get to the end of the path, jump up the ledge on the right side.
- Through the opening to the next room, you'll see a wall on your left with a ring in the middle. Use that to get the platform ahead. Keep running forward and jump to the wall in front of you, causing Prince to Gripfall down the wall to a fissure below.
- Follow the fissure around the wall to the right, then down, where there's another seed waiting.
- Keep following the pathway down for more seeds. This is the way you approached the first Fertile Ground.
- When you reach a wall with a ring on the left, run on the wall to reach the fissure. Follow it and Gripfall down for another seed.
- Turn back around, and you'll see a seed on a rock wall to the left. You can grab it, somewhat sloppily, by running on the wall and using Elika to save you.
- Climb up the wall with the two rings for the last seed in this room.
- If the Ruined Citadel is the first area that you've chosen you won't be able collect any more than this. Set the destination on your map to The Cauldron area of The Vale.
- To collect the final seeds in this area, return with Step of Ormazd.
- Using your new power, you can now collect all of the Light Seeds in this area. Start by jumping from the courtyard's exit to the column in front of you. Rotate around so you will be jumping to the left, and perform a magic jump to get to the platform.
- On the other side of the platform, wallrun to the red Power Plate and press Y to activate it. You will blast to another plate with a Light Seed on it. Quickly press Y again and you'll blast to another wall. Press B to run between the rings, collecting seeds as you go, then press Y when you reach the last plate to blast to a nearby platform.
Reservoir
- YouTube: Prince of Persia Walkthrough - The Vale: Reservoir (Time: 10:41)
- From The Cauldron, head down the column of weeds in front of you. Follow Elika's guide to the tunnel, along the path until you reach a platform where an enemy is spawning. Do away with it quickly by slashing quickly with X.
- Jump between the two walls on the back side of this platform. Keep an eye out for a fissure on the left side that extends further off to the left. Take this path to bring you further into The Vale.
- After a series of jumps along fissures, you'll reach a clearing. Take the path on the right. Jump along the polls, and do a magic jump to reach the wall, then leap to the next pole and onto the platform that follows.
- There's more corruption to avoid up ahead. You'll need to time your wallrun to avoid two separate pieces. Make the jump when the closer piece is just crossing your path and the further piece is just about to cross.
- Two more bits of corruption are guarding a ringed wall. Use the same strategy for timing this jump.
- An enemy is waiting on the next platform, but it's nothing you haven't handled before. Deflect, then use the sword if the monster changes states. Follow with a combo of acrobatics or gauntlet, followed by alternating magic and sword.
- Continue along the walls, moving left. Hang on the weeds while timing your wallruns to avoid corruption. The first ones are easy. The second is a little difficult to judge from your angle -- just wait until it moves below your trajectory. Once you get through, grab the ring on the corner to swing around, then jump to the next platform.
- Move along the wall. At the platform with a sailor's wheel imprinted on the it, take the path that branches to the left. Run along the wall and activate the red Power Plate.
- This section requires some quick thinking as you activate a series of red plates on your way to the Fertile Ground. Mostly, you'll need to press Y as you hit each plate, but there are a few slides, wallruns and magic jumps to complete as well. You'll get a decent amount of time to react, just be mindful of the two slides towards the end, which require a magic jump between each.
- The Alchemist awaits at the end of your trip. Like The Hunter, he'll try to perform quick draw attacks to knock you off your feet, then you'll have one last chance to save your life by hitting the right button when prompted. Keep your cool and be ready for these situations by refraining from button mashing.
- He'll also periodically change states, making him stronger and blocking most of your moves. When he turns black, press RT during his attacks, then bring him back to normal with a magic (Y) attack. If he turns blue, deflect and counter with your sword.
- His black form can be an opportunity, as magic is the start of a very effective combo for The Alchemist. Lead with Y, then follow with X, then Y again. Continue the combo by pressing B' to juggle your foe into the air, then strike again with Y, X, Y and, if you can, another B
- Warning: want to shorten these combos if you're nearing the outside of the arena, as The Alchemist can quickly turn the tables on you and sink you into the corruption.
- Another Warning: Don't use magic against The Alchemist when he is glowing blue. He'll knock Elika down, and you won't be able to use her unless you stand near her and press Y or wait until she revives on her own.
- Once The Alchemist is defeated, stand on the Fertile Ground and tap Y to restore it.
Heaven's Stair
- You might as well keep heading away from The Cauldron, traveling to Heaven's Stair via the Reservoir. Keep moving, with the wall on your right.
- This is familiar ground. Continue along with the wall to your right. You'll reach a column that allows you to roofrun onto a platform with a waiting enemy. Take care of it, then find the other roofrun area that leads into corrupted ground.
- The path ahead is simple enough -- just a couple of vines with corruption to dodge in between each. Jump to the columns, then to the wall, where there's a fissure in the middle. One last run and jump to a column, and you'll be at a platform with a green Power Plate.
- Activate the plate, then another one to turn the corner. You'll have to dodge gears and other obstacles as you run along this wall. Be ready to hit Y at the next plate.
- An enemy is waiting ahead. The combo of Y, X, Y, B, Y, X, Y, A, X will take care of it. STRATEGY: Sure, that combo looks daunting, but think of it as two sets of Y, X, Y attacks, chained together with a throw and extended with acrobatics at the end.
- Continue out the other side of the room to the green Power Plate. You'll have to stay on the broken wooden path as you progress, and be ready to hit Y again at the next plate.
- This next room has four green plates, each leading up to a platform. Climb up using the far left plate, jump to the column near the wall. Leap to the next column to your left and roofrun to the next platform.
- Corrupted air will start filling the room. Move so the wall is on your left, then wallrun to the sliding ring. When you reach the fissure in the wall, slide down to the floor and go back up using the green Power Plate to your left.
- Jump to the fissure in the wall. Keep moving right along the fissures, then climb up to the next platform. Move to the left and wallrun to the sliding ring.
- Drop down again, then go to the green Power plate to the right of the one you just used. Jump to the column, then to the fissure. Climb up the wall to the next platform. From here, run right and wallrun to the sliding ring.
- One more to go. Drop down and use the plate on the left. Once on the platform, jump to the column near the wall and turn left. Leap to the next column, then to the platform to your right. Climb up and onto the next platform. The final ring is along the wall to your left.
- When you get back down, turn right. A platform in this room is revealed. Get on and turn the gear counterclockwise to move upward.
- Jump on the column ahead and go outside. Use the green Power Plate on the wall in front of you.
- Running here is harder than previous challenges, but there's little we can do to help you. Move left and right to avoid obstacles, and always place yourself towards the center of each narrow piece of wood. That way, you won't get caught on a broken piece. Use the Power Plate at the end of the trail to reach The Alchemist.
- HINT: The ledge here provides an opportunity to end the fight quickly. First, get the Alchemist backed up to the ledge. An easy way to do this is to actually back up to the ledge yourself, then block his attacks until he tries to force you off. Press the right button when prompted and you'll turn the tables.
- Start hitting him with a combo. Elika's magic provides the ideal opening. If you're still attacking when The Alchemist is near the ledge, you'll lock swords. Tap X quickly -- again, we recommend putting the controller on the ground or in your lap, then double tapping with alternating fingers -- and you'll send him right over.
- If you can't do it this way, resort to combos that start with magic. Follow with X, Y, B, Y, X, Y, X.
- After the fight, go to the Fertile Ground and tap Y to restore it.
The Cauldron
- YouTube: Prince of Persia Walkthrough - The Vale: The Cauldron (Time: 6:48)
- At the start of this area, you'll see a vine wall. Climb up and over to safely reach the next platform, then wallrun and use the fissures and vines to move ahead.
- Eventually, you'll reach some vines that will take you higher in altitude.. Climb them and wallrun to the next platform. When you reach a fork in the path, go left to enter the Vale.
- Follow Elika's instructions and climb the vines on the left. The Alchemist will flood the area, adding a sense of urgency to your mission.
- Keep moving forward. You'll slide down some paths, climb more vines and vault some wooden beams, but nothing complicated.
- When you reach the spiked columns, it's time to roofrun. Press A to walk on the ceiling between them. Roofrun again to the ring on the ceiling and press B to swing yourself up to the next platform.
- The ground rises. Keep jumping across the platforms When you reach the wall again, climb up it to the wooden beam, then get on top and jump to next piece of solid ground. Hop onto the slide, then to the wall to reach your introduction to the Alchemist.
- This guy uses a pretty straightforward set of combo attacks. Block them, then lead with either magic or gauntlet. You can bet more mileage out of your combos by pressing A to follow with an acrobatic move, then pressing X or Y to move in with your sword or Elika's magic. Keep doing this until you fend off this boss.
The Cauldron: Light Seeds
- LIGHT SEEDS: 45
- You can now start collecting Light Seeds in this area. Grab the first four on your current platform, then jump to the weeds and climb down. Keep descending and collecting seeds along the way.
- When you reach the bottom, grab all the seeds in the circular area of platforms and walls. Don't forget to jump up and get the one above the vines along the far wall.
- Head off to the tunnel that has what looks like a giant broken fan inside. When you reach the second red fissure, magic jump and you'll reach an alcove with two more Light Seeds.
- Jump back across to the fissure and keep moving through the tunnel and along the wall on the right, collecting two more seeds as you go. When you get to the vines, climb up the ledge and fight the enemy that's waiting. The combination of B, X and Y works well.
- Follow the cliff edge to another wall. Run along it to the next Light Seed, and then continue to the next fissure. Drop down, and move to the right to go back the way you came.
- Now, head in the other direction. Grab the three seeds along the wall, but also jump above the vines to get one more seed on the platform above.
- Continue to the next platform. Around the corner to your right, climb the vine wall. Keep following this path. When you get to a vine wall with a seed in front of it, first grab the seed that's along a path to the right, then return to climb the wall.
- Keep moving along this path. When you get to the two spiked columns, jump to the first, then rotate so your back is facing away from the wall. Do a magic jump to reach another column, then a small alcove for two seeds.
- Go back to the first set of spiked columns, then return from the way you came.
- When you return to the area near the tall weeded wall, enter the room on the right, with the two branching paths.
- Start by going to the left. There's a fairly straightforward pathway with some seeds here. Use the rings to get the seeds on one side, and a wallrun followed by a magic jump to get one on the other side.
- Hop down the small platform, then along the walls for three more seeds.
- Go back the way you came, and take the other fork in the path. You can grab the first seed that's high along the left wall by getting on the railing and jumping to the wall, then jumping off the wall back on the platform.
- This part is also straightforward. Follow the path back the King's Gate area of the Citadel, collecting seeds along the way.
- There is one hidden seed to watch for on this path. When you reach a large, circular platform, dangle yourself along the edge and shimmy until you see the seed on the other side. Stand above it and gripfall down to the fissure below, then jump back up to the platform.
- Be sure to continue in this direction until you hit the weeds that take you around a cylindrical wall and down to the King's Gate area. The last seed to get is up on these weeds.
- If in this area you've attained at least 60 seeds total, return to The Temple to unlock a new power. Hint: you can skip there automatically by pressing Back for the map, moving the cursor to the temple and pressing Y to teleport.
- Return here for the last bunch of Light Seeds when you've acquired Breath of Ormazd. Climb down the vines from the Fertile Ground and take the path that curves around to the right.
- Before you get to the next room, climb up the wooden wall to your right. Cross the beam to the next platform and look over the edge on the left side. You'll see a plank below that you can reach by Gripfalling.
- Once you're on the plank, jump to the green Power Plate that's inside a depression in the wall. When you hit the second plate, be ready to dodge to the left right away, then veer back to the middle.
- You'll reach an elevated platform with five Light Seeds. Grab them and slide down the wall on your left. This takes care of all 45 seeds for this area.
Machinery Ground
- YouTube: Prince of Persia Walkthrough - The Vale: Machinery Ground (Time: 9:57)
- If you're following along with us, you'll be approaching this area via the Martyr's Tower section of the Ruined Citadel. After you defeat the enemy on the platform, magic jump to the pole ahead. Time your jump from the pole just after the corruption in the distance slides out of the way, so you'll miss it as you grab the ring on the wall.
- When you reach the next pole, time your jump again to avoid the corruption. Keep heading straight, up a wall and across a set of poles that are a magic jump apart.
- Continue to follow the path set by Elika. It's fairly straightforward from here to the Machinery Ground except for one tricky spot in the middle, where there are three corrupted to dodge while wallrunning. Time your run to avoid the first two, then jump to the other wall. Do a magic jump just before you hit the last corrupted and you'll safely reach the platform ahead.
- After one long magic jump, you'll reach the Machinery Ground. After a brief cutscene, use the red Power Plate right in front of you. Grab the ring, then blast from two more plates to reach another encounter with The Alchemist.
- Achievement: There are several pillars in this arena. If you can line up one of your combos to send The Alchemist through one, you'll get "The Improviser."
- Achievement: You can also get "Alchemist Special" by refraining from acrobatic attacks (or, the A button) during this battle.
- The Alchemist will start changing forms for this battle. Deflect his attacks by pressing RT as he lunges, then follow with a sword strike to change him back to his normal red hue. An effective combo here is the simple X, Y, X, Y juggle.
- Like The Hunter, you'll want to be ready to mash the X button when The Alchemist grabs on to you. He's even tougher than The Hunter in this regard, so you may want to place the controller on a flat surface when this happens and use your index finger for quick tapping.
- After a few effective combos, The Alchemist will retreat, but not before infecting you with a bit of corruption. It looks bad, but you still have all your abilities.
- Find the lower platform, and go down to the wall with rings on it. Climb up to the wooden plank, jump to the next wall of rings, then move to the weeds. Wall run to the next platform.
- A rotating object looks intimidating ahead, but it's also got a surprise. Once it stops moving, you need to jump through the opening, otherwise the corruption below will suck you in.
- Continue along the wall. After you run past the second ring, jump to the pole. Keep moving along this path.
- Don't be scared by the rotating wheel ahead. It will stop once you reach the sliding ring in front of it. Just hold left on the thumbstick to keep moving.
- Climb up the vines and the rings. Dodge the corruption as you run along the wall, and this time hold right as you extend your run past the spinning wheel.
- Jump to the plank, then the column. Roofrun through this area, taking you up to some vines. Make sure you're lined up with the next ring before wallrunning again.
- Run and jump to the next column, then roofrun again between the rings. When you run out of rings, simply let Prince land to the pole below. Magic jump to the wall, then grab the ring to swing to the column. From here, you can jump safely to a piece of ground.
- Wallrun along the two rings ahead, then around the corner to reach the fissure. Slide down and drop on the wooden plank (remember, press RT to drop) and continue to the next platform. Take the ring around the corner to a set of vines.
- Follow this up and to the right. Line up with the ring on the corner and run around to another ring. You'll run through another giant grinder, reaching a pole.
- Continue along the planks, magic jumping to the wall ahead. You'll need to Gripfall down here and press B to grab the ring as you get to the bottom. Extend your roofrun with B along the underbelly of this platform, so you swing back up the other side.
- Climb up to the top of the platform and run to the Fertile Ground. Press Y' repeatedly to transform the land. Fortunately, this has cleaned Prince of corruption.
Construction Yard

- From the teleport point at The Cauldron, climb down the vines on the middle structure, then turn around and head through the tunnel to your left.
- Climb up the platform at the end of this passage way and jump up the narrow vertical corridor at the back. Stop at the second set of fissures and follow the one on the left.
- Go through the circular passageway and wallrun along the left side to reach the Construction Yard.
- Take the middle path at the clearing, jumping over the small stream of corruption that runs next to you.
- You'll put green Power Plates to good use here. Run to the first one and press Y to activate it. Strafe to the right to reach the next plate, then left to hit the third plate. This will take you to another platform, from which you can see the Fertile Ground.
- Turn left and climb the rings on the wall. Then magic jump from the plank to your right to reach a puzzle.
- There are gears to twist on each of the four nearby platforms. The platforms have various lengths and configurations of wooden beams that allow you to jump between them. You need to rotate the gears to get across to the Fertile Ground.
- At the first platform, which is at the bottom left position, turn the gear counterclockwise once.
- Jump to the top left platform and turn the gear counterclockwise three times.
- Jump to the top right platform and turn the gear counterclockwise once. This will cause all of the platforms to rotate, putting you in the top left position now.
- Go to the new bottom left platform and turn the gear clockwise once.
- Jump to the top right platform and turn the gear clockwise twice. You can now magic jump to the fertile ground.
- Without any corruption in the battle arena, this encounter with The Alchemist isn't as tough as the last one. Lead your combos with magic, then follow with X, Y, B, X, Y and X.
- Use magic attacks if The Alchemist changes states and turns black. Use your sword if he turns blue.
- STRATEGY: If you can perform a long combo that takes the Alchemist to the edge of the platform, fast pressing of the X button will send him over, ending your battle immediately. We recommend setting the controller on a flat surface and using two fingers to tap the button alternately.
- Once The Alchemist is defeated, approach the Fertile Ground and tap Y to restore it.
Palace Rooms
- Jump to the yellow Power Plate ahead and press Y to activate it.
- Dodge right, then left to get around the structures in front of you. After a short interval, be ready to dodge left again.
- Activate the next Power Plate when you reach it. Be ready to dodge right, then left.
- Go to the blue Power Plate on the next platform, swing to the next blue plate, then activate the yellow Power Plate when you reach it.
- Dodge left, then down. You'll reach a wall with a blue Power Plate. Activate it to continue. One more yellow plate and you'll get to a room with The Concubine.
- Images of her will appear everywhere, and she'll start taunting you. Start slashing them with your sword until there are none left. The real Concubine will then appear for a battle.
- Blocking is almost completely useless here, as it will often trigger button prompts that are very difficult to accomplish. The best strategy is to deflect by pressing RT just as she starts to attack. You can then counterattack with a combo.
- If you're knocked down, be ready to respond to a button prompt to save your life. The camera angle will usually change to signal that this is about to happen.
- As with previous fights, attack with Y if The Concubine turns black, X if she turns blue and B if she turns red. If you're close enough to her, you can land a quick attack with these buttons as she's changing color.
- In this battle, The Concubine will occasionally cast a band of pink that glows around you. When this happens, your movements are reversed, but it's a minor nuisance as the emphasis here is mostly on attacking and blocking.
- It is possible to sneak in a quick attack against The Concubine without deflecting her moves. Wait until your within range and lead with Y for Elika's magic, then follow with X, Y, B, Y, X, Y, A, X.
- The Concubine will retreat temporarily when you deplete roughly a third of her energy.
- A gate will open. Go outside and blast between the series of blue and yellow power plates. You'll need to press Y for a magic jump when you get close to the next palace room.
- The Concubine is waiting inside. She'll knock Elika down before setting her sights on you.
- First thing's first, stand next to Elika and press Y to revive her.
- Use the same strategies as before to battle The Concubine. She'll disappear after you deplete another third of her energy.
- Go out the newly opened gate and use the blue Power Plate on the wall. After you hit the yellow plate, you'll have to magic jump to reach the next wall. Continue using the plates to get to the third showdown with The Concubine.
- She'll make Elika disappear and then create six images of her in a circle around you.
- The only way to bring Elika back is to jump off the edge of the platform. It's a leap of faith, but sure enough, the princess will come and save you.
- This only angers The Concubine, but if you've had luck fighting her before, it should be no different now.
- Position yourself near the middle of the arena. Deflect one of her attacks, then follow with the combo of Y, X, Y, B, Y, X, Y, A, Y, X.
- You may have to hit her once or twice more than this to finish her off. Doing so will give you the "Death of a Concubine" Achievement and 25 Light Seeds.
- You know the drill. An escape from this area is necessary before you can rest. Head straight out to the wall that holds a yellow Power Plate. It's an easy flight from here back to Coronation Hall.

- The goal here is to activate three Fertile Grounds while avoiding Ahriman's attacks. Run to the right, along the wall to the vines. It looks too far to make it, but you can.
- Stay on the circular plate as the corruption washes the walls. Then, wallrun from the vines to the fissures. When you're on the wall going towards the camera, run to the next fissure, which is difficult to see from your perspective.
- Continue to move to the right. When you reach the next circular plate, wait there again until the corruption recedes.
- Move down on the vines, then to the right. Keep moving to avoid Ahriman's fist. Wallrun to reach the platform holding the Fertile Ground and tap Y to activate it.
- Keep moving once again along the walls at a steady pace to avoid Ahriman's fist again. Reach the next metal plate and wait there until the corruption recedes.
- When you reach the next wall that extends toward the camera, wallrun and press B three times to run along the rings.
- At the next set of vines, move straight up and jump to the set above. Quickly climb to the metal plate to avoid the corruption.
- Now, move right again. Don't let up and you'll avoid Ahrimans punches. Keep going until you get to the next Fertile Ground, and tap Y to activate it.
- Keep going to the right once again. Get to the next metal plate to avoid the corruption. More of Ahriman's fists are on the way, so keep a steady pace.
- After you cross over a ring on the wall, look for a path up the next set of vines, then to the right to another metal plate. You'l have to get here with extreme efficiency to avoid the corruption.
- You'll go further to the right and reach another platform. The Fertile Ground is above, but you can't reach it. Keep going right to the ring on the wall and scramble to the metal plate.
- When the corruption washes away, go right to another platform.
- Start running. Jump over any gaps that suddenly appear in the floor. Be ready for magic jumps, followed by a wallrun to the next set of vines.
- Continue to the right. You'll see another metal plate. Waste no time getting there, as the corruption is coming.
- Wait until it recedes, then climb via the two rings to the platform on the right. Activate the Fertile Ground here.
- Use the Power Plate on the wall behind you and keep hitting Y to blast between the red Power Plates in the room.
- After several rounds of this, you'll fly right into Ahriman's mouth. Start tapping Y as fast as you can to release the light.
- This imprisons the ancient monster once again, giving you the "From Darkness...Light!" Achievement. Elika restores the land, then collapses.
