• Petr Prucha is a Czech professional hockey player, currently playing for the Phoenix Coyotes in the National Hockey League.

  • Career Highlights

    Prior to playing in the NHL, Prucha played for the HC Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga, or Czech Elite League. He was drafted 240th overall in the 2002 NHL draft by the New York Rangers. Prucha continued to play in the Czech Republic for three seasons after the draft. He made his NHL debut in 2005, playing 68 regular season games with the Rangers. Prucha also set a team record for power play goals scored by a rookie that season, at 16. He continued as a full roster member of the team, re-signing with the Rangers to a two year contract extension in 2007, before he was traded in 2009.
  • International Play

    Prucha has represented the Czech Republic on an international level several times, including in the World Ice Hockey Championships in 2002, 2004 and 2005. He also was selected to play in the 2006 Winter Olympics, but declined the opportunity because of an injury.
