• Peter Krause is an American actor whose breakthrough role came in the HBO series Six Feet Under. He currently stars the ABC drama, Dirty Sexy Money, along with Donald Sutherland, Lucy Liu and William Baldwin.

  • Early life

    Krause was born in Alexandria, Minnesota and raised in Roseville with his two siblings, Amy and Michael Krause. As a teenager he was a skilled gymnast and had some potential until he was injured in a vaulting accident.

    • Krause attended the Gustavus Adolphus College. While he was there he tried acting, but graduated with a degree in English literature. He moved to New York City and attended the New York University. He finished his Masters in the Fine Arts Acting Program.

  • Career

    • In 1998 Krause got a roll as "Casey McCall" on ABC's Sports Night. The show was created by Krause's friend Aaron Sorkin, whom he met while working as a bartender while he lived in New York. The show was canceled in 2000 after only two seasons because of the lack of audience.
    • In 2001 Krause starred in the Bravo and HBO series Six Feet Under. The series ran for five seasons and ended in 2006.
    • In 2009, it was announced that he will star as the lead role of Gil Buckman in the NBC series Parenthood
