• Guide Note: Peeps are marshmallow candies made from marshmallow, sugar, gelatin, and carnauba wax and come in various shapes to celebrate different holidays. Peeps were first introduced by Sam Born, a Russian immigrant, in 1953. In the beginning Peeps were hand-formed and it took 27 hours to make a yellow chick which was the first form of Peeps and how their name was derived. Fast Facts:

    2. Most often used to fill Easter baskets
    3. Newer ones come in flavors such as chocolate, eggnog, strawberry and orange
