The visual art of Painting applies color or black and white tones to a surface. In the past, painting was confined to physical pigments directly applied to cloth, rock, or wood.
Traditional Painting has three mediums: Oil, Watercolor, and Acrylic. Now, in the digital age, people also paint in pixels. The iPhone app, "Brushes" is the latest in digital painting. Painting has also been open to include painting in Pastels, Chalk, and Ink. Body Painting and Tatooing is also considered painting in some circles.
