• History

  Orlando was named after American soldier Orlando Reeves. No one knows the real story but it is said that he died fighting in the war against the Seminole Indians, others claim Orlando Reeves carved his name on a tree and many just assumed it was his grave marker so they called the area "Orlando's Grave". Soon it just became "Orlando".

• Climate

  There are only two major seasons in Orlando, hot and rainy, and the cool season. This could be the reason they are a hot spot for college spring breaks.
