  Prior to playing in the NFL, Asomugha played college football with the California Golden Bears in the NCAA.   Asomugha made his professional debut as a safety with the Oakland Raiders in 2003, playing in 15 games his rookie season. Continuing with the team, Asomugha earned a starting spot in 2005 and went on to record a career-high 60 tackles that year. After moving to cornerback in 2006, he totaled eight interceptions, one of which he returned for 24 yards to score a touchdown. In 2008, Asomugha was selected to play in the Pro Bowl.
