Ninja Gaiden 2. Images of the game originally surfaced on the official
Japanese Xbox 360 site, but were removed within hours. New weapons appeared in the removed images, including a scythe, a kusarigama, and a pair of three-bladed claws and bladed shoes on Ryu Hayabusa. The images also displayed several new Eastern locales. The existence of the scythe and talons were confirmed with the release of the
first trailer.
From the initial screenshots, the game appears to feature more graphic violence than the prior version, displaying decapitation and dismemberment.
Released images also feature a new female character, Sonia, a CIA operative in search of Ryu, and new enemies including a troll-like boss and black ninja dogs.
