• My Left Foot is a film based on the life of Christy Brown. Brown was born with Cerebral Palsy and only able to move his left foot. The film shows how he learned to use his left foot to complete simple tasks as well as to paint and write. It is based on Brown's autobiography and stars Daniel Day-Lewis as Christy Brown. Day-Lewis won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his work on the film. Brenda Fricker was also given the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
