Morocco is a country in North Africa that borders Algeria, Mauritania, Spain and has coast lines along the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea. Morocco is the only African country that is not a member of the African Union. It is, however, a member of the Arab League. Morocco's government is run as a Constitutional Monarchy, with the chief political figures being King Mohammed VI and Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi.
Morocco declared its independence from France on March 2, 1956, and from Spain on April 7 of the same year.
The population of Morocco is approximately 34 Million, and the official language is Arabic. The country's capital is Rabat, and its largest city is Casablanca.
Morocco is also renowned for its culture and cuisine. The cuisine in Morocco is heavily influenced by many different countries, and commonly uses ingredients such as Saffron, Mint, Olives and Citrus. The most popular Moroccon dishes are Couscous, Harira, Tajine and Pastilla.
