    Leach began his career at Boston University, playing two seasons before the school discontinued their football team. He transferred to William & Mary, where he played two additional seasons. Leach totaled 106 catches for 1,181 yards and 12 touchdowns, earning All-American honors and leading the Atlantic 10 Conference in punting.
