Career
From 1987 until 1989, Maria Shriver co-anchored Sunday Today and weekend editions of NBC Nightly News. In 2003 when her husband became governor of California, she took an unpaid leave of absence. In 2004, Shriver told NBC that she could no longer work for them due to conflicts of interests in her journalism role and role as a first lady.Biography: Maria ShriverFrom 2004 to 2008, Shriver has organized the Women's Conference, a California conference in 1985 by Governor George Deukmejian.
